In April 2013, UECSL provided an emergency grant to support almost 2 million people who were impacted by an earthquake in Ya'an Prefecture, Sichuan Province. Hygiene kits, day care centers, and psychosocial programming were made available to impacted communities with funding that was channeled through Mercy Corps to local Chinese implementing partners working with the local population.
